Moorhouse Planning Application Withdrawn

The planning application for a super-sized parcel distribution depot at the Moorhouse Tile Site has been withdrawn.

It was due to go before Tandridge Council's Planning Committee next week but now the applicants Roxhill, acting on behalf of Titsey Estate, have decided to withdraw it.

Nearly 1,000 objections were sent in to the proposal which, had it gone ahead, would have meant thousands more vehicles, including HGVs, on our roads. Both Surrey County Council and Kent County Council Highways Departments opposed the application. In September, around 150 objectors held a protest at the entrance to the Moorhouse Tile site on the A25 between Limpsfield and Westerham.

The developers' first application for a DPD depot at the site was refused by Tandridge Council last year.

OLRG has no details yet about why this second application has been withdrawn. We are cautiously optimistic but before hanging out the flags would like to know what Titsey Estate's plans now are for the site and, in particular, whether they are abandoning the idea of a DPD Depot or intending to come back with a revised application.
