OLRG's Cllr Davies turns detective over flytipping

Tandridge District Councillor for Limpsfield, Phil Davies, turned detective when a large pile of builders and domestic waste was dumped in Grants Lane.

Councillor Davies, who represents Oxted and Limpsfield Residents Group (OLRG) on the Council and who lives nearby, visited the flytipping and sifted through the rubbish to discover clues as to who dumped the material and its source.

Tandridge District Councillor, Phil Davies, who represents Limpsfield for the Oxted and Limpsfield Residents Group lives in nearby Itchingwood Common Road and was on the case immediately.

He has reported his findings to the District Council and officers will now investigate and decide whether or not to prosecute.

Councillor Davies said: 'Flytipping really cheeses me off. It's totally irresponsible just to dump waste in the countryside. I've done my best to deal with this lot but please do report any flytipping you come across as soon as possible to the Council. Officers at Tandridge are very proactive about dealing with flytipping and they have been successful with several prosecutions including custodial sentencing for repeat offences.'
