Edenbridge Town Council slams "Garden Village" plan

Edenbridge Town Council has sent the response below to Tandridge District Council's current Local Plan Consultation setting out why the proposed location for a 'Garden Village' on Land West of Edenbridge (which includes part of Limpsfield Parish) is unsustainable.

OLRG believes the Council's whole Local Plan Strategy is unsustainable and not compliant with national planning policy.

As well as a 'Garden Village' of at least 4,000 homes in the Green Belt, the Council also proposes building on the Green Belt around all the main settlements including Oxted, Limpsfield and Hurst Green, selling off open spaces that it owns for housing development, and removing villages that are currently in the Green Belt from the Green Belt thereby enabling development.
