On Tuesday (8 June 2021), Tandridge District Councillors heard that there is a large hole in the Council’s finances. It’s not clear exactly how much the deficit amounts to and accountancy specialists Grant Thornton have been called in to find out what’s happened. It seems the problem has been going on for several years.
The hole in the budget came to light about 4 weeks ago, just before the Independents and OLRG Alliance group of Councillors took over as the administration. It’s come as a big shock to us and we are keen to get to the bottom of it..
