We are delighted to say that all of OLRG’s eight candidates have been elected to Tandridge District Council with very large majorities. Thank you so much to everyone for all the support and encouragement we have received.
Peter Damesick and Catherine Sayer were re-elected for Oxted North together with new councillor Chris Bassett. Bryan Black, Chris Langton and Deb Shiner were all re-elected for Oxted South. Claire Blackwell and Ian Booth were re-elected for Limpsfield ward.
Twelve allied residents candidates were also elected around the District which means we have increased our total number of councillors to 20 and can continue as the administration, though still as a minority one because 22 councillors are needed for an overall majority.
The Liberal Democrats remain the second largest group with 11 Councillors. The Conservatives now have 7 Councillors.
It was very encouraging to see the strength of the vote and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped to make this happen.
