Stoney Field appeal withdrawn

We are delighted to say that the appeal by developers Croudace against Tandridge District Council’s refusal of planning permission for up to 190 homes plus an 80 bed care home on Stoney Field beside St Mary’s Church has been withdrawn.

The Planning Inquiry was hearing its fifth day of evidence today when, after the lunch break, the Croudace barrister suddenly announced that he had been instructed to withdraw the appeal. You can watch it here on the council’s website - starts at 3.05.40:

All five days of the Inquiry can be viewed on the council’s website.

Oxted & Limpsfield Residents Group and Oxted Parish Council joined together to take part in the Inquiry as a “Rule 6” party and we were represented by Paul Brown KC who did a fantastic job. We are submitting an application for costs.
