The boundary of the local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is being reviewed. It means that areas currently outside of the Surrey Hills AONB could be added and given a high level of protection.
The Oxted, Hurst Green and Limpsfield areas are all being included for consideration - see pink evaluation area on the map (the existing AONB is dark green).
The boundary review is being led by Natural England and they are currently gathering evidence to add areas to the AONB.
They are looking for evidence of landscape quality, scenic quality, wildness, tranquillity, natural heritage features or cultural heritage. If you think land has any of these qualities and would like it added to the AONB, all you need to do is send in a photo/s and a description.

Your evidence could be crucial in helping to determine whether the land you care about will be added to the AONB and given the protection that an AONB designation brings with it.
The closing date for submitting evidence is the end of January.
