CCTV cameras have now been installed in Station Road West and Master Park as the first stage of a project aimed at deterring crime and anti-social behaviour. In early January, CCTV will be installed in and immediately around Hurst Green Community Centre. The final stage of installation will start in the last week of January and will include equipment in Tandridge District Council offices, cameras in Station Road East, a final camera in Station Road West, and new CCTV poles in Hurst Green and cameras in Hurst Green.
When installation is complete there will be training for those who need access to the system - and the system will then be officially turned on.
At the moment, there is no date for when permanent signage will go up. Royal British Legion Industries will be making the signs.
This is a joint project led by Oxted Parish Council and backed by Limpsfield Parish Council, Tandridge District Council, Oxted BID (Business Improvement District) and the Master Park Trustees. Oxted Parish Council is kindly providing the bulk of the funding through its allocation of Community Infrastructure Levy funds collected from new development, with contributions from the BID and Limpsfield Parish Council.
