Chichele Planning Inquiry starts 24 September, 10am

A planning appeal by developers Cala Homes against Tandridge District Council’s refusal of planning permission for 116 dwellings on land at the back of Chichele Road starts at the Council offices in Oxted on 24 September at 10am.

The Inquiry is scheduled to last 8 days, spread over 3 weeks, and will be carried out by a government Planning Inspector.

Residents may attend the Inquiry and, at the Inspector’s discretion, express their views. You can also participate virtually.

The Inquiry will be live streamed by the Council on its website. To view it click here

The planning application (number 2023/1345) was refused by the council in February this year. The land is Green Belt with Ancient Woodland and is also being proposed for inclusion in the new expanded Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (National Landscape).

Oxted & Limpsfield Residents Group and Oxted Parish Council have joined together to take part in the Inquiry as a “Rule 6” party (which gives us similar status to the appellant and the Council and entitles us to receive all the evidence before the Inquiry begins) to support the refusal. We are being represented by a planning barrister.
